Abby is a visiting nurse who loves her patients and
especially the kind, older woman Caroline. With only her wealthy son in her life,
Abby has become a close friend to Caroline and the two look forward to the
weekly visits. Caroline has taken over a maternal role in Abby’s life, since Abby’s
own mother died several years ago. She
does still have her dad and brother, but they live on her family’s ranch a few
hours away and due to a drought and cattle rustlers, the ranch is barely
staying afloat.
Liam begins thinking of the women he knows, and his thoughts
bring him to the nurse who takes care of his mother. His mother adores her and
he is convinced that he can make this business arrangement work with the
beautiful young nurse. He will pay her five hundred thousand dollars for her to
carry his child, and she will have full custody of it. He will have nothing to
do with raising the child. Abby has always wanted a child and with no
relationship or man in her life right now, she knows the clock is ticking. The
money will save the ranch for her dad and brother and set up a college fund for
her child as well. Looking over the contract, she decides she will agree to the
terms and go through with this unconventional plan. She begins to arrange the
visit to a clinic for the artificial insemination when he drops another bomb on
her. It will take too long to get into a clinic and privacy is of the utmost
importance, therefor they will need to procreate the old fashioned way!
I really enjoyed the story and read the entire book in one
night. The characters were written in great detail and I loved Caroline. Such a
wise, loving woman. Highly recommend this book, 4 stars.
Olivia Starke calls the Ozarks home. One of the most beautiful areas in the country, she loves hiking trails with her dogs, kayaking on the numerous waterways, and enjoying southern Missouri's fresh air and sunshine.
She's also 'Mom' to four dogs, a growing number of kitties that show up at her door, and four VERY spoiled horses that do little to earn their keep. Not that she'd ever hold that against them.
She's a HUGE fangirl of Doctor Who and to a lesser extent Supernatural, and has a pretty interesting love triangle (or square?) going on in her head between the Doctor and the Winchesters.
