Scary Modsters…and Creepy Freaks by Diane Rinella ***Rafflecopter***

Title: Scary Modsters…and Creepy Freaks
Author: Diane Rinella
Genre: Contemporary romance with a paranormal twist.
Publication Date: March 25, 2014

A fantastical romance involving a girl, the music that fuels her, and her Ouija board.
Rosalyn possesses a sunny personality that is laced with quirks. Although she seeks acceptance in a world where she lives out of time, what she gets is ridiculed for her eclectic wardrobe and unconventional music collection.

One fateful night, Rosalyn bewitches Niles, a stylish man whose offbeat character perfectly complements her own. Unfortunately, he possesses a critical flaw that means relationship suicide for him and pretty much anyone.

While under the influence of insomnia-impaired judgment, Rosalyn summons Rock ‘n Roll deity Peter Lane back from the dead. Not only does he spin her hormones into a frenzy, Peter is also the precarious puzzle piece that brings sense into her world. When Niles learns that he can overcome his life-long challenge by helping Peter avenge his death, how far will he go to secure Rosalyn’s heart?

Rosalyn was born 30 years too late. She is a 60’s child at heart, with her loving outgoing personality and her eclectic choices in vintage clothes. She eats and breathes everything having to do with the 60’s. She still listens to vinyl and loves all the bands that emerged during that decade. Browsing through the racks of records at a music store, she stumbles across an autographed album by Peter Lane an up and coming musician who died tragically way too young.

While listening to the beautiful, smooth as silk voice of Peter Lane, Rosalyn gets out her Ouija board and attempts to contact him. Big mistake! Now she can see and speak to Peter all the time! He explains that he was murdered and needs to avenge his death and he wants to see his beloved Jane and tell her how much he misses her. Rosalyn explains that it would be impossible because Jane committed suicide shortly after his death. Convinced she would never do that, he believes her death was to tie up the loose ends associated with his.

Rosalyn is out with friends when she sees Niles across the bar. He is in a business suit with a vintage look to it and Rosalyn can feel herself drawn to this man. He also sees her and is intrigued by her vintage clothing and beautiful smile. They are a perfect match but something is off. She doesn’t have that spark when they kiss for him, or he for her. But she does feel a strong attachment. However, she does have that strong emotional pull for Peter…..

This is an interesting book, about soul mates and reincarnation. Very different and once you start reading you do get hooked on the story line. Well written,
4 stars.

Enjoying San Francisco as a backdrop, the ghosts in Diane’s 150-year old Victorian home augment the chorus in her head. With insomnia as their catalyst, these voices have become multifarious characters that haunt her well into the sun’s crowning hours, refusing to let go until they have manipulated her into succumbing to their whims. Her experiences as an actress, business owner, artisan cake designer, software project manager, Internet radio disc jockey, vintage rock n’ roll journalist/fangirl, and lover of dark and quirky personalities influence her idiosyncratic writing.
