Review of Night Owl by M. Pierce

The internet is the faceless monster, that brings people together from around the world, for work or even pleasure. Hannah or Little Bird, which is her Skype name, has been corresponding with Matt, aka Night Owl for a few months. Having met on a writer’s blog or forum, they are collaborating on a science fiction story. Matt is insistent that no details about their private lives be discussed or even mentioned. He is a very private man who likes to keep his personal life just that, private.

One night when they are working online, an innocent comment escalates the conversation into a very sexually charged chat. Now, Hannah is all Matt thinks about. Thoughts of her has seized his every waking moment and he has become obsessed with meeting her since learning she is moving to Colorado, to hell with his rules. Hannah cannot wait to get back online to speak to Matt again, their connection is intense. But first she needs to get her life back in order. That means dumping her loser boyfriend and unfortunately moving back in with her parents in Denver. When Matt tracks Hannah down and the connection is made it is electric. The touches, the kisses and then the kinky sex are something Matt and Hannah have not experienced this strongly before. It is earth shattering, yelling at the top of your lungs GREAT sex and the only word that comes to their minds is ….more.

But when you meet people on line you only see what they want you to see. You only know things about them that they tell you, so what happens when you discover another part of them? A life they were leading that you knew nothing about? Can you forgive them? And if they refuse to forgive you, how do you go on without them and learn to forgive yourself?

Great story with mildly kinky sex, and with lots of dirty talk. Great writing and looking forward to reading the rest of the trilogy. 4.5 stars
