Lights, Camera, Book 2 Hollywood actress Heather Wainwright was looking forward to a long, relaxing break before starting her next shoot. Except her assistant volunteered her for L.A.’s annual 24 Hour Plays. Nervous about doing a good job for such a worthy charity, Heather falls back on “diva” mode, a defense mechanism that always carries her through. Until she encounters something that really gets on her nerves—a lowly carpenter whose Norse god eyes pierce right through her. Highly sought-after production designer Seth Rafferty has little patience for A-listers with superior attitudes, which is why his attraction to Heather is absurd. Yet, sensing vulnerability beneath her screen-queen act, he lets her assumptions play out. After the wrap party, Heather awakens with little memory of the night before—except that Seth gave her the best orgasm of her life, then disappeared. When he shows up on the set of her next movie, she winds up to give him a piece of her mind…and Seth shows her just how stinging hot “chemistry” can get. Warning: Contains an outwardly snobby actress with a good heart, a delicious carpenter with a power drill, some much-deserved spanking, and an appropriately consensual—if tipsy—orgasm, as well as sex at an inappropriate time of the month.

Heather Wainwright is the hottest star in Hollywood. She has the looks, the body and the talent that have catapulted her to the top. Unfortunately, she also has the reputation of being a diva on and off the set. However, in her line of work, she always has to be “on”. You never know when a camera will snap a picture or record a conversation. That is why Heather looks forward every year to working with Urban Arts. Her and other actors, producers and directors give up a day of their busy schedules to present single act plays. The plays raise money to support the arts programs for several disadvantaged schools. You can’t beat the adrenalin rush you get from performing for a live audience like that, with no cameras. Plus, the cause is near and dear to her heart.
Seth Rafferty is also trying to give back by helping with this great cause. He knows how it is for a kid to have a creative outlet, to keep them off the streets and out of trouble. Seth is a self-made man, having worked hard from stage hand and carpenter up to Production Designer. He has literally done it all. He has offered to create a piece of furniture to be used in each set, so after the plays are done, they can then be auctioned off for even more money for this great cause. This is a first for Urban Arts. Everyone LOVES the idea, but one person…. Heather.
Heather and Seth don’t exactly hit it off but the chemistry between them sizzles…like off the charts hot. She has always been the one to call the shots, whether because of her prestige in the movie business or the men she has been with. So when her bitchy and condescending attitude due nothing to get him to back off or surrender, she is immediately intrigued and honestly turned on by his dominant personality. He is gorgeous with blond hair and piercing blue eyes and the body of Adonis. But her brain is saying she should stay away, he is only a carpenter. While that is a noble profession for other people, it is a little beneath her on the social climbing chart and the paparazzi would have a field day with it. Seth knows she is looking down on him because of the job she believes he has. He didn’t even bother correcting her when she assumed that he was “just” a carpenter. But there is something he sees in her behind the faΓ§ade, a sweet loving woman. Even if she does need a spanking for being such a bitch, his hand and other extremities, are twitching at that thought. If only they can stop bickering and fighting with one another to see if this is something worth the chance.
Holy crap, hot, hot, hot. Great story that had you LOVING Seth from the start and actually feeling sorry for Heather. The poor girl lives in a fishbowl, everyone always watching what she is doing and more importantly who! Loved the story and it does have a HEA which I LOVE! 4.5 stars

About Laurelin: Laurelin Paige is the NY Times and USA Today Bestselling Author of the Fixed Trilogy. She's a sucker for a good romance and gets giddy anytime there's kissing, much to the embarrassment of her three daughters. Her husband doesn't seem to complain, however. When she isn't reading or writing sexy stories, she's probably singing, watching Mad Men and the Walking Dead, or dreaming of Adam Levine.
