Lexie is a romance writer and she is almost broke. Her agent is pressuring her to write something that will be great, maybe something with some BDSM that seems to be all the rage right now. If it was only that easy! She has Googled some facts about the lifestyle but what she needs is someone to ask more personal, detailed questions than what the internet can shed light on. When an innocent interaction at the park begins a friendship with Garrett, a man who has just moved to New Orleans, she may have found someone to answer her questions. When they discuss that she needs to write a book about a subject she knows nothing about because her agent says it will sell, he asks her more about it. When she explains that the new book needs to be in the same genre of another extremely popular book that will be released as a movie, he begins to laugh. Garrett explains to her that that book is nothing like the lifestyle it was supposed to portray. The accuracy of the story was skewed, as far as the relationship of a dominant and a submissive. Lexie is shocked by his admission of knowing and experiencing this lifestyle, and once she picks her jaw up off the floor, she asks if he will help her write her next book. When he agrees to help her, Lexie discovers more than just an idea of her next best seller. Lexie discovers how far she is willing to go for her book and a part of her she thought was long dead.
What a good book. At first I thought Garrett was going to be a creep and although there were points in the story I wanted to punch him, he redeemed himself by the end. Interesting characters and great writing made this an enjoyable read. 4.5 stars
