Jack is a mess. After losing Carolyn, a woman whom he loved to another man, he has been living in a drunken stupor. However when the chance to take on an investigation at a large corporation is presented to him, he cleans himself up and pulls his life together to make some serious money.

Not knowing exactly what he is investigating until he officially accepts the position and signs a non-disclosure contract, he realizes he may be in over his head. There is embezzling going on high up the corporate ladder, and getting to the truth becomes a game of who can you trust. But just when Jack has his head wrapped around the case he was hired for, he begins to discover there is more going on than meets the eye. Now he must bring his old partner and former love onto the case to get the FBI and CIA’s cooperation in bringing down an espionage ring that threatens not only his job, and government secrets but his and Carolyn’s safety.

This is part of a series but can be read as a stand-alone. Good detective story with a little naughtiness.

So H.K. took the next exit which happened to be Sea World. Therefore H.K. randomly settled in San Diego. Okay, H.K. might have been really stupid when younger. Or reckless. Take your pick.

9. H.K. once lived in a commune.

10. H.K. now lives on the East Coast of the U.S.

11. H.K. is married.

12. H.K. waited a long time to get married as H.K. didn't want to be tied down.

13. H.K. has been keeping a dream diary since 1982.

11 Things You Didn't Know About A Taste For Danger
  1. A Taste For Danger is part of the "Chasing The Taste" series. The first book in the series was called A Taste For Killing. 
  2. All the books in the series focus on one or the other of two main heroes, Carolyn Woods and Jack Heart. A Taste For Killing is told from Carolyn's point of view. A Taste For Danger is told from Jack's point of view. Each book can also be read as a stand-alone. 
  3. Carolyn and Jack are both independent detectives who sometimes cooperate and other times compete with one another. 
  4. All the books in the "Chasing The Taste" series are about characters, both good and bad who are chasing something they feel they are missing. This might be money or fame or more nebulous things such as love or self- esteem. 
  5. A Taste For Killing takes place around the construction trade. 
  6. A Taste For Danger takes place in the arena of large corporations. 
  7. Both Jack and Carolyn have very healthy sexual appetites. But is it with each other? You have to read the books to find out. 
  8. Both books take place in a large city. Maybe New York? ; ) 
  9. Romance is not far away from Carolyn and Jack in both books, in several directions! 
  10. The author of A Taste For Danger and the "Chasing The Taste" series also wrote a short "Flirt" for Breathless Press called Eyes Only. That book was about the area of clandestine operations.
