Blurb
There was a loud bang followed by a rattle of sounds. Horrified, Pandora realised it was gunfire. She wriggled round, looking about her in a panic. The barrage of bullets was coming from outside, splintering wood and punching holes in metal. Something exploded, filling the compartment with smoke.
“Down!”
The policeman’s heavy hand was keeping her flat on the bench but she could see white-shirt sitting opposite them had pulled out a gun. He was firing through the window. The sound was deafening.

Pandora Fitchett’s life has taken a bad turn. Very bad.
Treachery lies behind the closed doors of British government’s most secret services, and when Pandora finds herself an innocent victim of a treason plot, she has nowhere left to turn.
At least that’s what she assumes.
Stalked by a ruthlessly logical cyber terrorist who follows her every intimate move, and who then has her kidnapped, she is thrown into a tornado of action-packed and violent world events.
Pandora’s only chance of safety will depend on a man who has no empathy, no sense of justice or obligation. A man who can destroy lives from his laptop.
Who is “Dragon” and why is he feared by so many?

Review of Pandora by Storm Chase

Review by Marissa Honeycutt
4 Stars

I received a complimentary copy of this book for an honest review.

Pandora’s life has fallen apart. She broke off her engagement to a not-very-nice guy and upset her family in the process. She went to London to start over, got a good job, was accused of espionage and then got kidnapped. Ostensibly to save her life. Now she’s in the middle of nowhere with a ruthless cyber-terrorist who has very little capacity for feelings. Will she ever escape? Does she want to?
I really, really liked this book. It kept me interested to the last page, making me wonder what would happen next. The couple of sex scenes are hot without going overboard. What I liked most was the interesting character that is the Dragon.
You could almost compare him to a Vulcan, except that Vulcans really do feel emotions, but don’t allow themselves to be ruled by them. The Dragon, on the other hand, simply doesn’t have the capacity for many emotions. You could almost label him a psychopath, except that he’s really not. He’s exceptionally sweet in his own way. His only soft spot is Pandora and he will do anything, ANYTHING to keep her safe and make her happy. He knows his weakness and compensates for it the only way he knows how…through logic. And it’s so sweet how he does, you can’t help but fall for him a little. He sticks with you.
Pandora is strong, without being overbearing, though when she starts to get manipulative, it bugs me, but that’s a personal preference. I don’t like manipulative characters. But, she stops after not too long and realizes she just needs to deal with the hand dealt to her and she accepts it gracefully.
I found the ethical issues brought up in this book very interesting and thought provoking, something I appreciate in a book. Black and white and grey areas of right and wrong. Are there really ‘good’ guys out there? Who are the bad guys, really?
I would highly recommend this book to anyone.
