Determined to remove herself from the rules and regulations of her overbearing religious parents, Avery escapes to college and is determined to make it on her own. Working as a bartender, and mere weeks before her college graduation, she finds herself face to face with thirty members of an Outlaw Motorcycle Club.
She had no idea when the President of the club walked in she'd go weak in the knees for the gorgeous tattooed biker.
Axton (aka Slice) is the President of the Selected Sinners MC. At the onset of a huge gun deal with a notorious prison gang, he has no time or desire to have a woman in his life. Abused by his Hell's Angel father as a child, and wronged by every woman in his past, Axton has one devotion - the MC.
After finding out he needs Avery's Criminal Justice education and her linguistic skills to assist in making the gun deal a success, Axton reluctantly approaches her to act as his interpreter.
Hoping to win Axton over, Avery attempts to turn off her smart mouth, turn on her charm, and become his woman of interest; even if it means sacrificing a level of independence she's grown accustomed to.
But when the gun deal goes to hell in an hand basket, both Avery and Axton are left wondering what their next move may be.

Cambio “Toad” Todelli is the Sergeant at Arms for the Selected Sinners MC. He is gorgeous, caring, loyal and a broken inside. He spent his time as a marine and now finds himself embracing the brotherhood and familial feelings the Sinners provides him. Toad sifferes from PTSD and will not allow himself to get close to a female. He likes sex and lots of it, without an emotional connection. Sydney Shepard has no one. She is homeless, without a job, money, and living in her car. She finds herself in a bad situation and is rescued by an unlikely person. She has not had much luck in her life, but will all that change? Can a broken biker and women with nothing get a chance at happiness? With they take solace in one another and create a bond unlike any other or will their pasts comes back to haunt them?
After reading, Making the Cut, I could not wait to dive into this book and learn more about Cambio “Toad” Todelli. He is a character that is easy to fall in love with and will leave you wanting more. Sydney has had a rough life and you can’t help but cheer for her and hope she finds some peace and happiness. Both of these characters are endearing, strong willed, determined and need each other to feel whole.
Scott did not disappoint with this book. I have always been a fan of his writing and this book was written as fabulously as the others. This story captivates you and sucks you in. For me it was a quick read that I devoured in one sitting. I could not put it down. I like the fact that that Scott is able to write an MC series and humanize his characters. You get to see and feel real emotions and feelings from them. The secondary characters in this book, particularly Otis were amazing! I am hoping we see more from in the near future. The only question I was left with was what happened to Sydney’s brother? I wish we had more to that part of the story. For me this book was a 5 star read and I would highly recommend it to others.
Oh yes, Sydney's brother..Well, just hang on..we have another book coming soon! :)
