This is the story of Jacob and Lily. Jacob is the best friend of Lily’s older brother and is also the person she has loved for as long she can remember. Jacob is the best friend of Lily’s older brother and has been fighting his feeling for Lily for as long he can remember. She is seven years younger than him and should be off limits. He keeps pushing her away and fighting everything that is right in front of him. Will he push to far and lose her forever?

This story captivated me from the beginning! I was hooked just by reading the prologue and k new this would be a book I would fall in love with and devour.  I fell in love with these characters. The development of these characters throughout was done flawlessly. You see them grow, change, struggle, etc.  Lily is an ideal female lead for me and Jacob is her perfect counterpart. Lily is sassy, funny, independent, and strong willed and someone I can relate to. She is someone I would want to spend time with and someone I would love to be friends with. Jacob is a swoon worthy alpha male who is every girl’s dream. He is a gorgeous, successful, dirty talking alpha who has an incredibly sweet side when it comes to one person, Lily. They are both loyal and think family and friendships are the most important things. I see myself and my own morals and values in these characters, which made it easy to fall in love with them.

M. Robinson did a fabulous job telling this story. She did a dual POV and jumped from the past to the present throughout the story. Often times when there is jumping between the present and the past in books, it’s easy to get lost or confused. M did a fabulous job with transitioning and telling this story in an impactful way that had me wanting more with each word. There was angst over what would happen and I could not put this book down. Some may find the subject a bit taboo because of the age difference and when the relationship begins to develop, but I did not see it that way at all. I saw this book as me watching two people grow within themselves and together. I saw them fight for what they thought was right and ultimately fight for each other, consequences be damned.  This book had all the “feels” you want in a book. The highs were magnificent and the lows were felt in your gut. M does a brilliant job. So besides all of that awesomeness, there is some super-hot sex scenes. Who doesn’t love that!

This book can be read as a stand-alone. I have not read Complicate Me and was able to follow the story line and characters without issue. I will certainly be going back to read book one and am highly anticipating book three! I would recommend this book to anyone and give it five well deserved stars!

This is the story of Willow Tate and Kane Masters. Kane is a major force in Hollywood and is every women’s dream. He is successful, gorgeous, rich, etc. Willow Tate is a women who has dealt with loss and feelings of inadequacy for much of her life. She has become a punching bag for those around her and has lost herself and her voice along the way. Her life is spiraling out of control when she quite literally stumbles upon Kane. Kane Masters is everything she thinks she could never have. He is untouchable to her and she doesn’t understand how he could possibly have any feelings or attraction towards her. Little does she know Kane has others plans in store for Willow.

Have you ever read something that touched you to your very core? Something you connected with on such a deep and profound level that it left you reeling? Have you ever been a part of something so profound that it made you think and question so much about yourself and who you were? I began this book and within the first two pages I was brought to tears. I felt like Harper was talking directly to me about my thoughts, feelings, fears and my journey in life. I felt like she was inside my head and oddly writing about all my fears, thoughts and insecurities.

This book was written exceptionally well and told an amazing story about change, growth, being comfortable in your own skin, be courageous, knowing your worth, etc. While I loved the story of Kane and Willow, I love the message of this story so much more. Kane and Willow are simply easy to love and root for. They are the type of character that will stay with you long after you complete the book. They are characters you will revisit and reread about more than once. With that being said, the message this book carries is one that I think everyone needs to read. Willow is your sister, your mother, your daughter, your best friend, a stranger passing by. Willow is you. Willow is me.

This book made me look inside myself and confront my own issues with body image and with loving myself. I have struggled my entire life with this and this book was a reminder that it is okay to be different. It is ok to not be perfect. Everyone struggles with issues and no one is perfect. Thank you Harper for sharing this story with us! Thank you for reminding me that it is okay to not be perfect. Thank you for reminding me to love me for me with all my awesome qualities and even my flaws. Thank you for reminding me it is ok to be perfectly imperfect. Thank you for Kane and Willow and their story. #iAmWIllow

I give this book five stars and would give it so many more if I could! Must read!!!
